Denys Kozachok
Old school, dotwork and graphic tattoos — solid designs with technical precision
About the artist
Denys Kozachok works across three complementary styles: old school, dotwork and graphic tattooing. One thing ties them together — technical precision and a focus on how the design will last. Denys approaches tattooing like a craftsman. Every line has to be clean, every dot in its place, every design thought through for how it will look in twenty years.
Old school, dotwork, graphic — three styles, one artist
Old school is the classic Western tattoo style: thick outlines, a limited palette of saturated colors and iconic motifs. Old school tattoos are built to age with dignity.
Dotwork is a technique built entirely from dots, with no continuous lines. The result is precise gradients, geometric patterns and mandala-like compositions with a hypnotic sense of depth. Dotwork takes patience from both the artist and the client, but the effect is unlike anything else.
Graphic is a broad category covering illustrative, abstract and mixed designs, often with linework, blocks of black and negative space. Denys enjoys blending elements of different styles into one coherent composition.
Working with Denys
Denys puts a lot of weight on preparing the design. After the consultation he draws a detailed sketch, which matters especially with dotwork and geometry, where the proportions have to be perfect on paper first. You always see the design before the session and can ask for changes. The sessions themselves are calm and focused — Denys works methodically.
FAQ — old school and dotwork in Wrocław
How much does a dotwork tattoo with Denys cost?
From 400 PLN for small pieces. Four-hour sessions are around 1,600 PLN, full-day sessions 1,800–2,200 PLN. Dotwork can take longer than other styles because of the precision involved.
Does dotwork hurt more than other styles?
The dotwork technique tends to feel a little different from a continuous line, and many clients describe it as more even. It mostly comes down to the spot on the body.
Does Denys do old school cover-ups?
Yes. Old school is ideal for covering old tattoos thanks to its strong outlines and saturated colors. Denys will assess what a cover-up can do during the consultation.
How long does a dotwork tattoo take to heal?
The same as any other tattoo: two to three weeks for surface healing, two to three months to fully settle.
